LPG Price Drop Alert: Check the Latest Cylinder Rates in Your City

LPG Price Drop Alert – Good news for businesses relying on LPG! Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have lowered the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 41, effective April 1, 2025. With this revision, the new retail price in Delhi stands at Rs 1,762 per cylinder. This reduction is expected to provide some relief to industries, especially restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments that depend on LPG for daily operations.

Why Have LPG Prices Been Reduced?

LPG prices in India are linked to global crude oil rates, exchange rate fluctuations, and other economic factors. OMCs review and adjust these prices every month to reflect changes in the international market.

This reduction comes after a recent price hike of Rs 6 in March 2025, when commercial LPG cylinder prices in Delhi increased from Rs 1,797 to Rs 1,803. Earlier in February, OMCs had slightly reduced the price by Rs 7, showing how fuel prices keep fluctuating. Looking further back, December 2024 saw a sharp increase of Rs 62 per cylinder, which put additional pressure on businesses.

While commercial LPG rates keep changing, domestic LPG cylinder prices have remained stable, ensuring households are not affected by these frequent adjustments.

Impact on Businesses

For businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and catering services, any change in LPG prices directly affects operational costs. The hospitality sector, which heavily relies on LPG for cooking, has been facing price volatility for the past few years. In March 2023, commercial LPG prices saw a massive hike of Rs 352 per cylinder, significantly increasing expenses for businesses.

While the latest Rs 41 reduction is a welcome relief, businesses are still cautious as prices tend to fluctuate. Small and medium enterprises that operate on tight margins are particularly affected by these changes.
